Wert io alternative for stablecoin sells in local money
Wert charges in USD or EUR only and lists its off-ramp as coming soon. Unigox is a Wert io alternative for apps whose users sell stablecoins for local money, or buy them in local currency. NFT sellers stay with Wert.
When to stay with Wert
You sell NFTs or run a smart-contract checkout
Wert's NFT checkout takes card payment for primary, secondary and peer-to-peer NFT sales and for purchases through a smart contract, with AmEx, JCB and Discover on top of Visa and Mastercard. The Unigox widget only buys and sells USDT and USDC.
Your users make small card buys without documents
With only a name, date of birth and billing address, a Wert user can buy up to $1,000 of crypto in total before uploading ID. Unigox checks every user's identity before the first trade, whatever the amount.
Your users are in the United States
Unigox does not currently offer its services in the United States, while Wert's on-ramp covers 40 of the 50 US states through a FinCEN-registered money transmitter. New York, Washington, Hawaii, seven other states, Washington DC and two territories are left out.
Wert vs the Unigox Crypto widget: sells, payments, fees
| Topic | Wert | Unigox |
|---|---|---|
| Selling crypto for fiat | None. Wert's home page lists its off-ramp as coming soon. The products it runs are a fiat on-ramp and an NFT checkout. | Users sell USDT or USDC from their Unigox Wallet and receive local currency in a bank or mobile money account. |
| How users pay for a buy | Visa or Mastercard, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Cash App or SEPA, charged in USD or EUR. The on-ramp is switched off in Ghana, Uganda, Pakistan and Senegal. | In local currency, by bank transfer or mobile money to the P2P merchant or payment business that sells the stablecoins. |
| Where bought coins go | Straight to the wallet address your app passes when it opens the session. | Into the user's Unigox Wallet, from which they can send USDT to an outside wallet on Tron, Solana, TON or an EVM network. |
| Coins | BTC, ETH, SOL, TON, BNB and project tokens, plus USDT and USDC on several chains. | USDT and USDC only. |
| What users pay | A processing fee set in your agreement with Wert, at least $1 or €1 an order, plus blockchain fees. You can choose to pay both for your users and be invoiced monthly. | A rate that already includes the Unigox fee and, on a sell, your markup, shown to the user before confirming. |
| What you earn | An optional service fee added on top of Wert's own, paid out on request in stablecoins once it reaches $500. | 20% of the Unigox fee on each completed widget trade, paid as agreed at setup, and a sell markup credited in crypto as each sell completes. |
| Regulation | Sha2 Solutions, Inc., trading as Wert, is registered with FinCEN as a money transmitter. It runs Wert jointly with SHA2 Solutions OU of Tallinn. | Unigox works through two companies: UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Canada handles the local-money side and is registered with FINTRAC as a money services business and with the Bank of Canada as a payment service provider; UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Panama handles the crypto side, including wallets and escrow. |
Add a sell route to a Wert setup in three steps
Say where your users want their money
On a call, name the local currencies your users would sell into, and the countries where Wert's card checkout leaves them without a way to buy.
Take your key and choose a markup
Unigox opens your partner account and sends the widget key. Unlike a Wert session, the embed needs no server call. You set a sell markup in the partner dashboard.
Add the Sell button Wert does not have
Put the Unigox embed code behind a Sell button, and behind a bank or mobile money Buy option if you want one. Wert's widget stays on card buys and NFT checkout.
Wert io and Unigox questions
What is Wert io used for?
Apps, dapps and NFT marketplaces embed Wert so their users can pay by card for crypto or NFTs: the user pays in USD or EUR and the coins go to the wallet address the app passes. Two SHA2 Solutions companies, one in Estonia and one in the US, run it.
Can users sell crypto through Wert?
No. Wert runs a fiat on-ramp and an NFT checkout, and its home page marks the off-ramp as coming soon. The Unigox Crypto widget lets users sell USDT or USDC for local currency, paid to a bank or mobile money account.
See the Crypto widgetWhat does Wert charge, and what does a partner earn?
Wert takes a processing fee set in each partner agreement, at least $1 or €1 an order, and the user pays network fees. A partner can add its own service fee, paid in stablecoins from $500. In the Unigox widget the fee is inside the rate, and the partner earns 20% of it plus a sell markup.
Which Wert io competitors work for users who pay in local money?
The Unigox Crypto widget. Users pay in their own currency by bank transfer or mobile money, where Wert charges only in USD or EUR. The USDT or USDC lands in their Unigox Wallet, from which they can send it on. Unigox verifies identity before the first trade. Our on-ramp comparison sets the wider field side by side.
