Utrust competitors for orders paid in USDT or USDC
If you took crypto through Utrust and need stablecoin payments matched to orders, Unigox, one of the Utrust competitors, gives each order its own USDT or USDC address. xMoney, Utrust's new name, has suspended crypto services; keep it for cards.
When to stay with xMoney
You take cards and mobile wallets
xMoney takes Visa, Mastercard, Apple Pay and Google Pay, runs subscriptions and marketplace split payouts, and issues cards, all through Capital Financial Services S.A., an e-money institution regulated by the National Bank of Romania. The suspension notice covers a different company, Cifralfabeto, which provides the crypto-asset services.
Your store runs a Utrust plugin and can wait
xMoney still offers the Utrust plugins for WooCommerce, Magento, OpenCart and WHMCS, which send the buyer to its hosted payment widget. Its crypto services are suspended pending the outcome of an authorisation application, and xMoney gives no date. Moving to Unigox means your developers build the payment page.
You want crypto sales paid out in fiat
When its crypto service runs, xMoney settles each payment in EUR, GBP, RON, USD or CHF, or in USDC. Unigox crypto processing keeps what the customer sent, as USDT or USDC on your Unigox balance.
xMoney Crypto and Unigox for an online order paid in crypto
utrust.com redirects to xMoney. xMoney states that all its crypto-asset services are suspended while Banco de Portugal assesses Cifralfabeto's application for CASP authorisation under MiCA. The xMoney column describes its crypto service as xMoney documents it.
| Topic | xMoney, formerly Utrust | Unigox |
|---|---|---|
| Coins and networks | Coins enabled for the store: xMoney names BTC, ETH, EGLD, SOL and SUI, plus USDC. A help centre notice says it has stopped accepting USDT under MiCA. Its API reference still lists USDT on Ethereum. | Crypto processing takes stablecoin payments on the major EVM networks (Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Polygon, Optimism, BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche, Unichain and HyperEVM), Robinhood Chain, Tron, TON and Solana. Which stablecoins a business accepts on each network is agreed during setup. Payers send from their own wallet or exchange. |
| Checkout | Your store creates an order and redirects the buyer to the hosted xMoney payment widget, through the API or a plugin for WooCommerce, Magento, OpenCart or WHMCS. Invoices and payment links come from the dashboard, and a sandbox on blockchain testnets is there for testing. | Built by your developers: your backend asks for an address tied to the order or customer reference, and your own page shows it with the network, stablecoin and amount. |
| Telling your store it is paid | A webhook to your store once the transaction confirms on chain, which xMoney says can take up to 2 hours. The buyer gets an email from xMoney. | A signed notification to your server with your reference and the amount that arrived. Your backend can also query a transfer's status. |
| Where the money lands | Converted and settled in EUR, GBP, RON, USD or CHF, or in USDC on Ethereum, SUI or Polygon. USDT settlement has ended. | Your Unigox balance, in the coin the buyer sent: USDT stays USDT and USDC stays USDC. |
| Pricing | 1% when you settle in EUR, GBP or USDC; 1.5% in USD, CHF or RON, with stamp duty where it applies. A payout waits until a minimum amount builds up, unless you pay an extra payout fee. | Agreed with your company before you start accepting payments. There is no public rate card. |
| Regulation | Crypto: Cifralfabeto Unipessoal Lda, a VASP registered in Portugal, whose services are suspended pending MiCA authorisation, and Modernityparty OU, registered with the Estonian FIU (FVT000333). Cards: Capital Financial Services S.A., regulated by the National Bank of Romania. | Unigox works through two companies: UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Canada handles the local-money side and is registered with FINTRAC as a money services business and with the Bank of Canada as a payment service provider; UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Panama handles the crypto side, including wallets and escrow. |
Replace Utrust in three steps
Describe your store and your buyers' coins
Tell us your store or invoicing system, the stablecoins and networks your buyers hold, and the volume you expect. Networks, integration access and pricing are agreed before you start accepting payments.
Swap the plugin redirect for an address
Where the Utrust plugin sent buyers to the payment widget, your backend now requests an address for the order and your checkout shows the address, network, stablecoin and amount.
Mark orders paid from notifications
Match each signed notification to its order by reference, and decide in your own code what happens when a buyer sends more or less than asked.
Questions about Utrust competitors
Which Utrust competitors take stablecoins now?
Unigox crypto processing is one: each order or customer gets its own payment address, and buyers send USDT or USDC from their own wallet or exchange without a memo. For other gateways grouped by the job they do, see our crypto payment gateways comparison.
Compare crypto payment gatewaysWhat replaces the Utrust API?
The xMoney Crypto API took its place: orders, refunds, exchange rates and webhooks over REST in JSON:API format, with a sandbox on test networks. Most of its plugin and library downloads still point to the utrustdev repositories on GitHub. With Unigox, your backend requests an address per order or customer and gets a signed notification for each payment.
Is Utrust still running?
The Utrust name is gone: utrust.com redirects to xmoney.com, and the crypto checkout is sold as xMoney Crypto. xMoney's pages now say all its crypto-asset services are suspended pending Banco de Portugal's decision on a CASP authorisation under MiCA, and that they will resume in accordance with the terms of that authorisation.
Can I keep xMoney for cards and add Unigox for stablecoins?
Yes, as two separate setups. Card payments stay on xMoney, and Unigox addresses take USDT or USDC. A payment sent to an old Utrust or xMoney crypto checkout is never seen by Unigox. Unigox does not currently offer its services in the United States, so a store there cannot add Unigox.
