BitPay alternative for repeat stablecoin payments

Unigox crypto processing is a BitPay alternative for platforms whose customers pay in stablecoins again and again, to an address that keeps their reference. Stay with BitPay for store checkout, bitcoin and settlement to your bank.

When Unigox fits better than BitPay

  • Repeat top-ups to one address

BitPay opens a new invoice for each payment, and a payment that reaches an expired invoice is declined and refunded. With Unigox a customer keeps an address assigned to their customer ID for repeat payments, and each payment to it arrives with that ID.

  • The payer picks the amount

BitPay's docs say an invoice is either paid or not: a partial payment is not credited to the merchant and goes back to the payer, as does any amount above the price. Unigox credits the amount that arrived and reports it, and your own rules decide what a short or extra payment means.

  • USDT sent on Tron or TON

BitPay's list of invoice payment currencies names Bitcoin, Ethereum and its layer 2 networks, Polygon, Solana and a few other coins, but not Tron or TON. Unigox takes stablecoin payments on Tron and TON as well as on major EVM networks, Robinhood Chain and Solana.

When to stay with BitPay

  • You want the money in your bank account

BitPay settles every business day to a bank in one local currency, such as USD, EUR, GBP or CAD, or in crypto, or a mix of both. Unigox credits your Unigox balance in the stablecoin the payer sent, with no automatic bank settlement. Converting and withdrawing in a local currency is a separate step, using the services set up for your business.

  • You sell through an online store or a till

BitPay has plugins for Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento, Wix, BigCommerce and WHMCS, plus email invoices, in-store payments and a hosted donation page. With Unigox your team builds the checkout or top-up screen.

  • Your customers pay in bitcoin or other coins

BitPay takes Bitcoin on-chain and over Lightning, Ether, Solana, Litecoin, Dogecoin, XRP and more. Unigox crypto processing is for stablecoin payments.

  • Your company is in the United States

Unigox does not currently offer its services in the United States, where BitPay holds money transmitter licences state by state and a New York licence for virtual currency business.

Questions about BitPay alternatives

How much are BitPay fees, and what does Unigox charge?

BitPay publishes its fees: 2% plus 25 cents per transaction under $500,000 a month, 1.5% plus 25 cents up to $999,999 and 1% plus 25 cents from $1,000,000, with higher fees for high-risk industries. Its crypto payouts cost 1%. Unigox crypto processing has no public price list; it is priced per company.

Does BitPay have an API, and how does the Unigox integration differ?

Yes. BitPay's API creates invoices, issues refunds and sends payouts, with access through tokens. Its webhook tells your server that an invoice changed, carries an HMAC signature, and its docs say to fetch the invoice before you act. With Unigox your backend asks for an address tied to an invoice or customer reference, gets a signed notification with that reference and the amount, and can look up a transfer's status.

Which BitPay competitors suit repeat payers?

Look for a service that gives each customer a lasting address and tells you who paid. Unigox crypto processing does that: a customer keeps an address assigned to their customer ID, and each payment reaches your server with that ID. BitPay opens a new invoice for every payment, including the bills its Subscriptions send on a schedule, so a repeat payer gets a new payment window each time. Our gateway comparison sets BitPay beside other processors by business model.

Is there an alternative to BitPay for USDT on Tron or TON?

BitPay's list of invoice payment currencies does not include Tron or TON. Unigox crypto processing takes stablecoin payments on both, and on major EVM networks, Robinhood Chain and Solana.

What happens when a customer pays the wrong amount?

On BitPay an invoice is paid only when the amount due arrives within 15 minutes; a partial payment is not credited and goes back to the payer, and so does any extra. Unigox credits whatever arrived and sends your system the actual amount, so your own rules decide whether the invoice is part-paid or overpaid and what you tell the customer.

Can we keep BitPay for store checkout and add Unigox for stablecoin top-ups?

Yes. They are separate integrations, so you can keep BitPay for store checkout and bank settlement and use Unigox for customers who top up again and again in stablecoins. Nothing moves over by itself: you show the new Unigox addresses to the customers you move.
