BVNK alternative for local payouts
BVNK serves businesses processing from $500,000 a month and pays out in stablecoins, USD, EUR or GBP. Unigox is a BVNK alternative for customer payouts and collections in local currency, by bank or mobile money, settled in USDT or USDC.
When Unigox fits better than BVNK
You are below BVNK's entry bar
BVNK works with businesses that process at least $500,000 a month and have six months of trading history. With Unigox your company passes a company check (KYB), and API keys follow approval.
Your customers withdraw to a local bank or mobile money
BVNK's currency list names USD, EUR and GBP for fiat payouts, and its payouts page sends stablecoins to wallets. The Unigox Payments API pays your customer's own bank or mobile money account in the local currencies Unigox serves, funded from USDT or USDC in your partner wallet.
Your customers top up in local currency
BVNK's payments page describes customers paying in stablecoins that reach you as stablecoins or as USD, EUR or GBP. With Unigox your customers pay by bank transfer or mobile money, and USDT or USDC lands in your partner wallet once the payment is confirmed.
When to stay with BVNK
You fund payouts from a bank balance
BVNK takes EUR, GBP or USD and pays out USDC, USDT or EURC to wallets, so you do not need to hold stablecoins. Its currency list says the stablecoins on offer depend on your jurisdiction. The Unigox Payments API is funded from USDT or USDC.
You want cards and rewards in the same platform
BVNK issues cards against stablecoin balances and pays rewards on idle balances, from the same integration as its payouts.
Your company is in the United States
Unigox does not currently offer its services in the United States, and BVNK holds US money transmitter licences.
BVNK vs Unigox
| Topic | BVNK | Unigox |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Stablecoin payment infrastructure: payouts, payment acceptance, fiat and stablecoin accounts, conversion, cards and rewards from one integration. Part of Mastercard. | A Payments API for local payouts and collections settled in USDT or USDC, and company accounts in EUR, GBP and USD. |
| Who it is for | Businesses and financial institutions that process at least $500,000 a month, with six months of trading or operating history. | Wallets, exchanges, fintechs and payment companies. Your company passes a company check (KYB) before setup. |
| Payouts | Funded in EUR, GBP or USD and paid in USDC, USDT or EURC to wallet addresses, in bulk by API or CSV file. Which stablecoins you get depends on your jurisdiction, and its currency list names USD, EUR and GBP for fiat payouts. | Funded in USDT or USDC from your partner wallet. A payment business or a P2P merchant pays your customer's own bank or mobile money account in local currency, and you can limit orders to payment businesses. |
| Collections | Accepts stablecoins, with an address for each customer, and can convert them to USD, EUR or GBP in named virtual IBANs. | Customers pay in local currency by bank transfer or mobile money. USDT or USDC lands in your partner wallet once the payment is confirmed. |
| Company accounts | Fiat and stablecoin accounts in one place, with virtual accounts in USD, EUR or GBP for your business or your customers. | In your company's name: a EUR IBAN from the Netherlands or Malta, a UK account number and sort code, and USD accounts confirmed during setup. Stablecoins sit in the same portal, with swaps to and from EUR or GBP. EUR and GBP accounts in your customers' names come on request after your KYB. |
| Your own fee | A partner can add a flat customer fee to payouts, paid into a fee wallet it picks. Its docs say customer fees work only on outgoing payments. | Add your own percentage fee to payouts and collections. Each quote shows it, and it reaches your partner wallet when the order completes. |
| Pricing | No public price list: fees are agreed with each client. Its EU pricing policy names the fee types, among them conversion, transfers to outside wallets, network fees and, where agreed, onboarding, platform or minimum monthly fees. | Each Payments API quote shows the rate, the Unigox fee, your own fee and the total. Account fees follow a pricing plan confirmed before you commit. |
| Regulation | 40+ licences and registrations across the UK, EU and US: an FCA-regulated e-money institution in the UK, an e-money institution in Malta, crypto-asset registrations in Europe and money transmitter licences across the US. BVNK says it is not a bank and that crypto is not FCA-regulated in the UK. | Unigox works through two companies: UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Canada handles the local-money side and is registered with FINTRAC as a money services business and with the Bank of Canada as a payment service provider; UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Panama handles the crypto side, including wallets and escrow. |
Add the Payments API beside BVNK
Verify your company
Your company passes KYB, and we set up your partner account. Nothing carries over from BVNK.
Test in the sandbox
Your developers get a quote, create an order and sign the transfer from your partner wallet, with the same endpoints as production.
Go live
Switch to your production key and fund your partner wallet with USDT or USDC before the first payout. Unlike BVNK, nothing is converted from a bank balance when a payout runs. Each customer passes a Unigox identity check before their first order.
Questions about BVNK competitors
Which BVNK competitors pay out in local currency?
Unigox is one, through its Payments API: your customers receive local currency in their own bank or mobile money account, and you fund each payout in USDT or USDC. Airwallex, which also appears on lists of BVNK competitors, is compared on its own page.
Read the Airwallex comparisonBVNK API vs the Unigox Payments API: how do they differ?
BVNK offers one integration for payouts, payment acceptance, accounts, conversion, cards and rewards. With the Unigox Payments API your server gets a quote, creates the order and signs each transfer from your partner wallet, and a payment business or P2P merchant handles the local payment.
What are BVNK's fees, and what does Unigox charge?
BVNK publishes no price list: it agrees fees with each client, and its EU pricing policy names the fee types without figures. On the Unigox Payments API the fee depends on the currency and payment method, and each quote shows it before you create the order.
What happens to the stablecoins if a payout stops?
During a trade the crypto sits in an on-chain escrow that Unigox can release only to the buyer or the seller. If a funded payout stops while the crypto is still in escrow, your server signs the refund and the full amount, your fee included, returns to your partner wallet.
Do I have to leave BVNK to use Unigox?
No. The Payments API is a separate integration, so you can keep BVNK for stablecoin and USD, EUR or GBP payouts and use Unigox for the local-currency routes you need. Your app decides which service handles each payment. Nothing moves over by itself: your company passes KYB, each customer passes a Unigox identity check, and you fund a separate partner wallet.
Do Unigox business accounts need a European company?
No. Companies registered elsewhere can apply too, and each passes a company check (KYB). Companies from countries excluded by the Unigox Terms of Service or under sanctions cannot apply.
