Altery alternative for business accounts with stablecoins
Altery's crypto option is run by a separate company, credits crypto as fiat and excludes UK and EU companies. Unigox keeps stablecoins as balances beside your EUR, GBP and USD accounts. Keep Altery for cards and batch payouts.
When to stay with Altery
You pay many people at once
Altery sends up to 150 bank transfers or 300 card payments in one request, by API or CSV upload, in several currencies. Push-to-card pays straight to a recipient's debit card, with no bank details needed.
Your team spends on company cards
Altery issues virtual and physical business cards on Visa and UnionPay, with spend controls, team roles and permissions, and keeps several companies in one account.
You sell BTC or ETH, not only stablecoins
Through Synterra Connect, an eligible Altery customer can send BTC, ETH, GRAM (formerly Toncoin) and Falcon's USDF as well as USDT and USDC and receive fiat. Unigox company accounts hold stablecoins only.
Altery vs Unigox for stablecoins beside company accounts
| Topic | Altery | Unigox |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Business accounts in GBP, EUR and USD with a dedicated IBAN, SEPA, SWIFT and Faster Payments, batch payouts, company cards and an API with a sandbox. | EUR, GBP and USD company accounts with stablecoin balances in one Business Portal, and OTC deals between EUR or GBP and stablecoins. |
| Stablecoins | Through Synterra Connect, run by a separate company under its own terms: USDT or USDC you send in is credited to your Altery account as fiat; USDC you buy goes to a wallet address you enter. | Stablecoins stay in the account as balances. You swap EUR or GBP into them and back, and move them to and from your Unigox Wallet. |
| Who can use it | Accounts: online application, for companies incorporated in a country on Altery's approved list. Crypto option: only companies registered in a country on its crypto list, which leaves out the UK and every EU country, and not with a beneficial owner in the UK, the US, the Netherlands, Japan or Serbia. Industry also counts. | Companies that pass KYB. Countries excluded by the Terms of Service or under sanctions cannot apply, and the company does not have to be registered in Europe. |
| Paying out | SEPA, Faster Payments, SWIFT, local transfers and push-to-card, with batches of up to 150 bank transfers or 300 card payments. | EUR by SEPA and GBP to UK accounts from the Business Portal, with saved recipients. OTC deals convert between stablecoins and EUR or GBP, carried out by the Unigox team. |
| Pricing | Starter £50, Pro £100 and Ultra £300 a month. FX markup up to 0.8%, 0.7% or 0.5%; a SEPA payment €2, €1.50 or €1; Faster Payments £1, £1 or £0.50. | No public price list. Your pricing plan sets the fees for account services, transfers and swaps, and is confirmed before you commit. |
| Regulation | Altery Ltd. is authorised by the FCA as an electronic money institution (FRN 901037). Altery EU Ltd., authorised by the Central Bank of Cyprus, is open to a limited group of users in early access. Its help centre says funds used for crypto are not safeguarded or covered by the FSCS or the Financial Ombudsman Service. | Unigox works through two companies: UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Canada handles the local-money side and is registered with FINTRAC as a money services business and with the Bank of Canada as a payment service provider; UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Panama handles the crypto side, including wallets and escrow. |
Move your stablecoin flows off Altery in three steps
Apply for company accounts
Apply on the Unigox business accounts page with registration documents, ownership, source-of-funds evidence and intended use. In intended use, name the stablecoins and networks that reach you through Synterra Connect today. Altery's checks do not carry over.
Compare your pricing plan with Altery's
Our team sets up the approved accounts with stablecoin balances and confirms your pricing plan. Set it against your Altery plan fee, its FX markup of up to 0.8% and the rate Synterra Connect gives you, before you move volume.
Send stablecoins to Unigox instead
Have the stablecoins you receive sent to your Unigox Wallet instead of a Synterra Connect address and move them into the account to hold or swap. If clients pay your invoices in USDT or USDC, crypto processing credits the payments to your Unigox balance. Cards and batch payouts can stay on Altery.
Questions about Altery alternatives
What happens to USDT sent to an Altery business account?
Altery's help centre says Synterra Connect, run by a separate company, credits the fiat equivalent to your Altery account once the payment is confirmed. USDC you buy through it goes to a wallet address you enter. At Unigox, stablecoins stay as balances beside your EUR, GBP and USD accounts and swap with EUR or GBP both ways.
See business accountsCan a company registered in the EU use Altery for crypto?
No. Altery's help centre says companies registered in the UK or any EU country cannot apply for Synterra Connect, and that Synterra Innovations Ltd., which runs it, is not permitted to carry out virtual asset activities in the EU or the UK. Altery EU Ltd., authorised in Cyprus as an electronic money institution, is open to a limited group of users in early access.
Can we keep Altery and add Unigox for stablecoins?
Yes. The two are separate setups: Altery for cards, batch payouts and push-to-card, Unigox for stablecoin balances and swaps with EUR and GBP. Each runs its own company checks.
