Sardine onramp alternative for trades by bank and mobile money
Sardine's ramp takes cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, US ACH and SEPA. Unigox is a Sardine onramp alternative for users outside its country list who pay by bank transfer or mobile money. Card buyers and US users stay with Sardine.
When to stay with Sardine
Your users pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay
Sardine takes credit and debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, and as merchant of record it handles authorisation, fraud checks and disputes. In the Unigox widget the user pays a P2P merchant or payment business by bank transfer or mobile money.
Your users are in the US, outside New York and Alaska
Unigox does not currently offer its services in the United States, while Sardine's ramp runs in every state but New York and Alaska, with cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Instant ACH from a linked bank account.
Your users buy Bitcoin or Ether
Sardine's asset list has BTC on Bitcoin and ETH on Ethereum next to its stablecoins. The Unigox widget trades USDT and USDC only.
Sardine onramp vs the Unigox Crypto widget
| Topic | Sardine | Unigox |
|---|---|---|
| Who carries the payment | Sardine Payments, the payments arm of the fraud and compliance company Sardine, as merchant of record: it runs KYC, compliance, payments and settlement and takes the fraud liability. Users go through its hosted widget, or your own screens on its API. | Unigox runs sign-up, identity checks and the trade inside its widget. A P2P merchant or payment business sends or receives the local money. |
| How users pay and get paid | Cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay; Instant ACH in the US and SEPA in the EU. On a sale the user signs the crypto deposit in your app or sends it to Sardine, and the money settles to a bank account or a card. | Bank transfer or mobile money in local currency, with the merchant or payment business on the other side of the trade. Users sell from their Unigox Wallet, so the USDT or USDC moves there first. |
| Coins and networks | By default: BTC, ETH, USDC on Ethereum and Arbitrum, and USDT on Ethereum and Tron; an account's own list can differ. Sardine says the list narrowed when it moved to a single liquidity partner. | USDT and USDC, held in the user's Unigox Wallet. USDT moves in and out on EVM networks such as Ethereum, Arbitrum, BNB Smart Chain and Optimism, and on Solana, TON and Tron. |
| Countries | A country table covering the US without New York and Alaska, most of the EU, the UK and parts of Latin America, Africa and Asia. Kenya, Ghana, South Africa, Pakistan, Argentina and Canada are not in it. | Each currency Unigox shows as live, in the directions it shows; the widget offers what is live in the user's country. |
| Going live | A KYB questionnaire reviewed by Sardine's compliance team, sandbox keys, a test transaction, then an integration review call before production keys are issued. Mobile apps open the widget in a WebView with Sardine's risk SDK. | A call, then a partner account and widget key from Unigox. You paste one embed code into your website, with no backend work. A native app would use the Payments API, which needs your backend. |
| Price and partner earnings | Set per business by payment method, region, volume and currency conversion, in a proposal on request. Each quote shows a processing fee and the network fee. | Users see a rate with the Unigox fee inside it. You earn 20% of that fee on completed trades and may add a markup on sells. |

Sardine Payments: common questions
Is Sardine Payments a crypto ramp or a fraud tool?
It is Sardine's merchant-of-record product for crypto: an on-ramp, an off-ramp and NFT checkout that a wallet or Web3 app adds as a hosted widget or through an API. The Sardine home page itself sells fraud and compliance tools; the ramp is documented on its payments docs site.
How does a partner add the Sardine onramp?
After its compliance team approves a KYB questionnaire, Sardine issues a sandbox client ID and secret. Your server trades them for a client token for each user session. You open the widget URL in a new tab or an iframe with camera and geolocation allowed, and track each order by polling or by widget events. An integration review call comes before production keys. The Unigox widget is one embed code with a widget key.
Which Sardine onramp alternative takes mobile money?
Unigox: in its Crypto widget, users buy or sell USDT and USDC with a P2P merchant or payment business by bank transfer or mobile money, in the currencies Unigox shows as live. Sardine's payment-method list names cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, US ACH and SEPA.
See the Crypto widgetCan a wallet run the Sardine onramp and the Unigox widget?
Yes, on its website. Keep Sardine for card purchases, US users, BTC or ETH and in-app mobile flows, and offer the Unigox widget on your web pages to users in countries Sardine's table leaves out. Those users verify with Unigox and trade from their Unigox Wallet, so the USDT or USDC they sell has to be there first.
