Rango Exchange alternative for your stablecoin token buys

Stablecoin in on one network, token out on another, a failed buy refunded on the destination: on that route the Unigox Trade API is a Rango Exchange alternative. Keep Rango for sells, non-stablecoin swaps or its widget.

When to stay with Rango

  • Your users pay with Bitcoin or another non-stablecoin

One Rango API routes swaps from any token on EVM networks, Bitcoin, Cosmos, Solana and Starknet. A Trade API purchase starts from a stablecoin that both networks support, on pairs Unigox signs off during integration.

  • Users swap the bought token back through Rango

Rango quotes from any token on any chain to any other, so the token a user bought can go back the same way. The Trade API covers the purchase only; a later sale is its own swap on the network that holds the token.

  • You want a swap box without building screens

The Rango Widget is set up in Rango's playground and exported as code for your framework or as an iframe. On the Trade API your team chooses the assets and builds the trading screens itself.

Rango's Basic API compared with the Trade API

Every row follows one purchase: a user pays a stablecoin held on one network for a token that lives on another.

Who carries out the buyRango finds a route through DEXs and a bridge and returns it as one transaction; your app has the user sign and send it. On some routes the bridge can ask a user for KYC on a large amount or a flagged wallet.Unigox delivers the stablecoin on the token's network and buys the token for the user. It screens deposits and recipients for sanctions risk on the chains its screening covers and holds anything flagged for review. Your team picks the assets and builds the screens.
What the user signsAn approval Rango generates on EVM networks, Starknet and Tron when the allowance is short, then the swap transaction itself. The stablecoin transfer, once your app has shown the quoted price. The token lands at the user's existing address.
Quote to transactionRe-quote if the user waits past a short timeout. The swap call can return a lower amount, and your app decides whether to ask again. The transaction must be created within 5 minutes of the quote; Rango advises doing it within 1 minute.A single quote carries the delivered amount, the gas charge and a deadline, and the user signs against it.
If a buy failsThe user may end up with the input token, a middle asset on the source chain, or a middle asset on the destination chain. A swap stuck in a bridge gets a diagnosis link to refund through that bridge.Stablecoin back at the receiver's address on the destination network, not on the network the user paid from. Only gas burnt by a failed execution there is deducted, capped at the quote's gas charge.
GasThe user pays network fees, which Rango estimates in the quote. EVM transactions get a higher gas limit than the estimate so they do not run out; unused gas comes back. Bridges and DEXs on the route charge their own fees. The user signs one transaction, plain or from a smart account. Gas for the buy on the destination network is quoted up front and taken out of the trade, with a ceiling shown before signing, so the user needs no gas token there.
AccessA shared test key with a low rate limit, not for production. A production key comes from a ticket on Rango's Discord. Free of charge to business partners, with default rate limits; enterprise clients can get a dedicated endpoint.Requested on the Trade API page. Unigox reviews your assets and networks, agrees terms and runs the first purchase with your team.
Fees and your revenueYou set a referrer fee of up to 3% of the input (0.1% by default), and Rango adds 0.15% on top. Rango says the split is open to negotiation and offers discounts for the first six months. Your fee is paid out instantly on most routes that start on an EVM chain, Starknet or Osmosis.Your cut is a share of Unigox's trading revenue on these buys, agreed before launch. The user sees the delivered amount and the gas charge in the quote before signing.

Switch stablecoin buys from Rango in three steps

  1. Send Unigox your Rango buy list

Request access on the Trade API page with the tokens and networks your users buy with stablecoins through your Rango key. Unigox reviews them and agrees terms, and Rango keeps serving every other route.

  2. Replace Rango's quote and swap calls

For these buys your backend asks Unigox for one quote. The user sees that price with its gas charge and deadline in your app, then signs the stablecoin transfer.

  3. Show two endings instead of four

Rango's status can report the target token, the input back, or a middle asset on either chain. A Trade API buy ends with the token, or with stablecoin refunded on the destination network, which your app should make clear to the user.

Rango Exchange alternatives: questions

What kind of swaps does Rango Exchange handle?

Rango aggregates DEXs and bridges so a wallet or dApp can swap any token on one chain for any token on another. The Trade API covers one slice of that: a user paying a stablecoin for a token on another network, executed by Unigox.

How do you get a Rango Exchange API key?

Open a ticket on Rango's Discord describing your app, its chains and its domain. Until then a shared test key works at a low rate limit, for testing only. The API is free for business partners; Rango adds 0.15% on top of your referrer fee and says the split is open to negotiation.

What does a failed Rango cross-chain swap leave the user?

It depends on where it stopped: the input token if the first DEX step reverts, a middle asset on the source chain if the bridge fails, or one on the destination chain if the last DEX step fails. On the Trade API a failed buy always ends as stablecoin on the destination network, not on the chain the user paid from.

Can a wallet run Rango and the Trade API together?

Yes. Send stablecoin buys on supported networks to the Trade API and keep Rango for sells, swaps paid in a token that is not a stablecoin, and Bitcoin routes.
