Cybrid alternative for companies outside the US and Canada
Cybrid is built on US and Canadian rails; if your senders fund over ACH, RTP or Interac, stay. Companies elsewhere paying customers by bank or mobile money from USDT or USDC can use Unigox as a Cybrid alternative.
When to stay with Cybrid
Your company and senders are in the US or Canada
Cybrid moves dollars over ACH, wire, RTP and FedNow at US banks, and over EFT and Interac e-Transfer at Canadian ones. Unigox does not currently offer its services in the United States, and its Payments API funds payouts from USDT or USDC, not from a customer's bank deposit.
Customers hold balances and trade crypto with you
Cybrid opens fiat and trading accounts in each verified customer's name, with a deposit bank account, and trades BTC and ETH as well as stablecoins, held in its custody. The Unigox API pays out and collects order by order.
Your developers want a sandbox before any paperwork
Cybrid's sandbox opens with a Google or GitHub sign-in, and API keys are generated on its Developers page. Unigox opens its sandbox after a setup call and your company's KYB.
Cybrid and Unigox for local payouts and collections
| Topic | Cybrid | Unigox |
|---|---|---|
| Who can go live | A company incorporated in the US or Canada, with a corporate bank account there and payout funding that starts in one of the two countries at launch. | A company that passes KYB. Unigox does not currently offer its services in the United States, and its Terms of Service and sanctions rule out some other countries. |
| Funding a payout | Customers fund USD or CAD accounts over US or Canadian bank rails. Cybrid also accepts USDC and USDT for treasury funding. | USDT or USDC your company tops up in its partner wallet ahead of the payout. Your server signs each transfer out of it. |
| Where money arrives | A published corridor list run as remittance plans, among them SPEI in Mexico, PSE in Colombia, LBTR in the Dominican Republic, Faster Payments in the UK and SEPA, with M-Pesa in Kenya. ARS, BRL and GHS are marked coming soon. | A bank or mobile money account that belongs to the customer, in a local currency Unigox serves at the time of the order. |
| Collecting from customers | Deposit bank accounts and Plaid-linked accounts on US rails; EFT and Interac e-Transfer in Canada, for Canadian entities only. | Your customer pays in local currency by bank transfer or mobile money, and USDT or USDC lands in your partner wallet once that payment is confirmed. |
| Pricing | Tiered by usage and discussed on a demo call. The home page names a flat fee plus mid-market FX with a 0.15% to 0.25% margin; the go-live checklist names an indicative minimum of about 2,500 USD a month. Each quote returns one fee that adds Cybrid's fee to any fee you set. | Set per currency and payment method. Each quote shows the rate, the Unigox fee, your own fee and the total, and an order that does not complete carries no charge. |
| Going live | Business, compliance and technical readiness checks, customer KYC through the Persona SDK, a video walkthrough of your build and a Flow of Funds Review, then production under initial limits. | A call to agree markets and setup, then company verification and API credentials. The sandbox runs the same endpoints as production. |
| Regulation | Cybrid Canada Inc. is registered with FINTRAC as a money services business; Cybrid Inc. and Cybrid Payments Inc. are registered with FinCEN. Cybrid says it complies with Canada's RPAA and covers all 50 US states through bank partners. | Unigox works through two companies: UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Canada handles the local-money side and is registered with FINTRAC as a money services business and with the Bank of Canada as a payment service provider; UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Panama handles the crypto side, including wallets and escrow. |
Move payouts from Cybrid to Unigox in three steps
Swap Cybrid's go-live checklist for Unigox KYB
Book a call to agree markets and setup, then send your company documents. Unigox runs its own KYB in place of Cybrid's readiness checks and Flow of Funds Review, and API credentials come after approval.
Rebuild the payout call in the sandbox
Where your app ran a remittance plan, it now requests a quote, creates an order and signs the transfer from your partner wallet. Signed webhooks report each status and refund.
Fund in USDT or USDC and verify customers
Top up the partner wallet before the first live payout. Each customer then passes a Unigox identity check: details with an ID document and a selfie, reuse of an eligible Sumsub or Persona check, or a Unigox verification link.
Questions about Cybrid alternatives
What does Cybrid, the stablecoin payments API, do?
Cybrid gives fintechs, banks and remittance apps in the US and Canada one API for local bank rails, conversion between dollars and stablecoins, custody, customer KYC and KYB, and payouts on its corridor list. The Unigox Payments API covers one part of that for companies elsewhere: local payouts and collections funded in USDT or USDC.
How is a payout on the Cybrid API built, next to a Unigox order?
Cybrid's REST API is built around banks, customers, accounts, quotes, trades and transfers, and a cross-border payout is a remittance plan you create and then execute. On Unigox your server requests a quote, creates an order and signs the transfer from your partner wallet, and a payment business or P2P merchant makes the local payment.
Which Cybrid competitors work outside the US and Canada?
Cybrid's production checklist asks for an entity incorporated in Canada or the US, a corporate bank account in that country, and funding that originates there at launch. Companies from other countries can apply to the Unigox Payments API through KYB, except where the Terms of Service or sanctions rule a country out.
What does Cybrid cost next to Unigox?
Cybrid prices in tiers by usage, discussed on a demo call, and its go-live checklist names an indicative minimum of about 2,500 USD a month in platform and volume costs. Each Unigox Payments API quote shows the Unigox fee beside the rate and the fee your company adds.
