HIFI Bridge alternative for customers paid by mobile money
Unigox is a HIFI Bridge alternative for paying your own customers by mobile money or bank where HIFI lists local rails as beta or sends only dollars by SWIFT. Stay with HIFI for US accounts, card payouts and supplier payments.
When to stay with HIFI
Your payouts go to suppliers or payroll
HIFI pays counterparties with a purpose-of-payment code, from imported goods to payroll, and sells supplier payouts and international payroll from one stablecoin balance. The Unigox Payments API is built for payouts to your own verified customers; supplier and other third-party payouts run only on routes agreed with Unigox before integration.
You need US dollar accounts and US rails
HIFI issues named virtual accounts to businesses and individuals on ACH, Fedwire, RTP and wire, with Cross River Bank providing the banking side. Unigox does not currently offer its services in the United States, so US customers and US-rail payouts stay on HIFI.
Recipients cash out to a Visa card
HIFI Push to Card sends stablecoin funds through Visa Direct to eligible Visa debit or credit cards, for eligible US businesses, so a recipient needs no bank account. Unigox pays to bank and mobile money accounts.
HIFI off-ramp and Unigox payout compared
| Topic | HIFI | Unigox |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | Stablecoin infrastructure from HIFI Bridge, Inc.: US dollar virtual accounts, off-ramps to bank accounts and cards, wallets it provisions and secures per user, swaps and transfers between chains. | One API to pay out to and collect from your customers in local money, by bank or mobile money, settled in USDT or USDC. |
| Mobile money and local bank payouts | Beta in its coverage table: KES, UGX, TZS, XOF, XAF, ZMW and MWK by mobile money, KES, TZS and ZAR by bank. Ghana, Rwanda and Pakistan get US dollars by SWIFT only. | Local currency to the customer's own bank or mobile money account, paid by a payment business connected to Unigox or a P2P merchant. |
| Where customers are based | Its regions page lists Kenya, Tanzania, Pakistan, Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire and Cameroon among the regions its services do not support. | Customers who pass the Unigox identity check in a country Unigox serves (not the United States), in a currency live on the day of the quote. |
| Customer identity check | Each user accepts HIFI's terms, inside yours or on a HIFI link. Then they send a government ID and proof of address by API or on a HIFI-hosted page with your logo. | Details with an ID document and a selfie from your own screens, reuse of an eligible Sumsub or Persona check, or a Unigox verification link. |
| Exchange cost | Some off-ramps carry a conversion fee priced off live market rates, taken from the payout or billed on invoice. | Each quote lists the rate, the Unigox fee for that currency and payment method, your own percentage and the total. |
| Your fee | A developer fee, percentage or flat, paid in stablecoin to up to 10 wallets the moment the source wallet is debited, and not refundable once sent. | Your percentage reaches the partner wallet when the order completes; an order that does not complete carries no charge. |
| Regulation | HIFI calls itself a financial technology company, not a bank; Cross River Bank, Member FDIC, provides its banking and payment services. | Unigox works through two companies: UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Canada handles the local-money side and is registered with FINTRAC as a money services business and with the Bank of Canada as a payment service provider; UNIGOX NETWORK CORP. in Panama handles the crypto side, including wallets and escrow. |
Move customer payouts from HIFI to Unigox
Bring your HIFI off-ramps
Bring the HIFI off-ramps that pay your own customers, with the currency and rail of each. Unigox runs its own company check; your HIFI onboarding does not carry over.
Move each customer's identity check
Replace HIFI user creation and its terms acceptance with a Unigox check: details, ID document and selfie from your app, or a customer's eligible Sumsub or Persona check.
Swap the off-ramp calls and fund the wallet
HIFI's quote-then-accept off-ramp becomes a Unigox quote and an order your server signs. Your developer fee becomes the quote's partner percentage, so a flat HIFI fee needs a percentage equivalent. Test in the sandbox, then top up USDT or USDC.
Questions about HIFI Bridge alternatives
When is Unigox a HIFI Bridge alternative?
When your platform holds USDT or USDC and pays its own customers by mobile money or bank. It helps most where HIFI's coverage table marks local payouts as beta or lists US dollars by SWIFT only. HIFI fits better when you need US dollar accounts, Visa card payouts, or payments to suppliers and payroll.
See all business comparisonsIs HIFI Bridge now called HIFI?
Yes. hifibridge.com redirects to hifi.com, and its terms still name HIFI Bridge, Inc., of Jersey City, New Jersey, as the company behind the site.
What payments can HIFI make?
It off-ramps USDC or USDT to a counterparty's bank account or card. Its US dollar virtual accounts turn ACH, Fedwire, RTP and wire deposits into stablecoins. It also runs on-chain transfers and swaps, and Push to Card payouts to Visa cards for eligible US businesses.
How does HIFI's developer fee differ from Unigox's fee?
HIFI adds a percentage or flat fee on top of each off-ramp and sends it in stablecoin as soon as the source wallet is debited, with no refund once sent. On Unigox your fee is a percentage shown in every quote, and it reaches your partner wallet only when the order completes.
Bring your HIFI off-ramp currencies to a call
Send us the currencies your customers are paid in, the HIFI rail used for each, and the developer fee you charge. We answer with the currencies the Payments API pays out in and a sample quote.
