Swypt alternative for selling USDT held on Tron or Ethereum

The Swypt Wallet does not list Tron or Ethereum USDT. A Swypt alternative for those networks: sell or buy USDT on Unigox, paid through your bank or mobile money account. For Paybill or Till payments, stay with Swypt.

When to stay with Swypt

  • You pay Paybill, Till and M-Pesa numbers from USDT

The Swypt Wallet holds KES and USDT (USDt in the Swypt app) side by side, converts between them in the app, and pays people by M-Pesa number and merchants by Paybill, Till or bank.

  • Your shop takes M-Pesa and you want dollars

Swypt Merchant takes payments by QR code, checkout link or API, M-Pesa included, and settles each one in KES or USD in real time, by a toggle on the dashboard.

  • The people you pay are on Swypt too

A transfer from one Swypt account to another is free under Swypt's fee schedule.

From the Swypt Wallet to a first Unigox sale

  1. Open a Unigox account and pass the ID check

Unigox verifies your identity before the first trade, however small it is.

  2. Bring USDT in on a matching network

USDT on Tron, Ethereum or BNB Smart Chain, networks the Swypt Wallet does not list, can go straight to your Unigox deposit address; pick the network that address shows.

  3. Sell and get paid to your account

Choose the currency, enter the mobile money or bank account to be paid, check the rate with the fee inside and confirm. A P2P merchant or a payment business fills the trade and pays that account directly. There is no withdrawal step and no fee like Swypt's M-Pesa withdrawal fee.

Questions about Swypt alternatives

What is Swypt, and who uses it?

A payments platform from Swypt Limited in Nairobi, built for African businesses. Merchants take M-Pesa and other payments and settle in KES or USD; the Swypt Wallet holds KES and USDT and pays M-Pesa numbers, Paybill and Till. Unigox covers a narrower job: trading USDT or USDC for local money.

How much does Swypt charge to withdraw to M-Pesa?

Swypt's terms list a fee in shillings for each amount band: KES 131 on a withdrawal of 20,001 to 250,000 to an M-Pesa number, KES 35 to a Paybill or Till from 25,001 to 250,000, and KES 40 by PesaLink to a bank. On Unigox there is no separate withdrawal fee; its fee is part of the rate shown before you confirm.

Is Swypt regulated in Kenya?

Swypt's FAQ answers 'Yes' when asked whether it is secure and regulated, pointing to data-protection standards and AML and KYC rules. Its terms are governed by Kenyan law, and neither the site nor the terms name a licence or registration with a regulator.

Does the Swypt Wallet send USDT to outside addresses?

Swypt's pages do not say whether its wallet sends USDT to an outside address, or which of its networks carry USDT. None of the four networks the Swypt Wallet lists (Scroll, Base, Celo, Lisk) is a network the Unigox deposit screen lists for USDT. Send only on a network that screen shows: Swypt's terms say confirmed transfers cannot be reversed.

Set a Unigox quote beside Swypt's KES 131 withdrawal

Work out what reaches M-Pesa after Swypt's conversion and withdrawal fee, then compare it with the Unigox quote for the same amount, fee already counted.
