Sendwave alternative when the money is already USDT

Sendwave sends debit card transfers to mobile money, banks and cash pick-up; its recipient wallet holds only USDC. If you hold USDT, Unigox is a Sendwave alternative: your relative sells it for local money. Card payers should stay with Sendwave.

When to stay with Sendwave

  • You pay from a debit card

Sendwave takes Visa or Mastercard debit cards and a few prepaid cards in Italy, Spain and France. A Unigox sale needs USDT or USDC to start with, and an account for the person selling it.

  • Someone collects the money in cash

Sendwave pays out to cash pick-up locations as well as mobile wallets and bank accounts. On Unigox there is no cash pick-up: the buyer of the USDT pays the account your relative adds when selling.

  • You send dollars, not crypto

From a dollar balance in a US Sendwave Wallet, you can send to your relative's Sendwave Wallet, where it arrives as USDC to cash out in local currency later. The Unigox route starts with USDT or USDC you already hold.

Switch from Sendwave in three steps

  1. Your relative opens a Unigox account

The person at home signs up and passes the photo ID and selfie check. Unigox asks for it before their first sale, however small.

  2. Send USDT where you would pay Sendwave by card

Instead of a Sendwave transfer paid by debit card, send USDT from your exchange or wallet to the deposit address in their Unigox Wallet, on the network it shows. USDT cannot go to a Sendwave Wallet, which takes USDC only.

  3. They sell it and the buyer pays their account

They pick their currency, enter their own mobile money or bank account and accept the rate for the amount. There is no cash pick-up: the buyer pays that account.

Questions about Sendwave alternatives

Is Unigox a Sendwave alternative for sending USDT to family?

Yes, when the money is already USDT or USDC. Send it to your relative's Unigox Wallet; once they verify their identity, they sell it and the buyer pays their bank or mobile money account. If you pay from a debit card, Sendwave is the shorter route.

Which apps like Sendwave accept USDT?

Sendwave does not: its wallet takes USDC only, and only from Sendwave or other Sendwave users. Unigox takes USDT or USDC from an exchange or another wallet and sells it for local money. Among other Sendwave competitors, Eversend converts deposited USDT and pays mobile money directly; see our comparison.

How are Sendwave fees worked out?

Sendwave may charge a transfer fee that depends on the currencies, the amount, how you pay and how the money is received, and it also earns a margin on its exchange rate. The app shows the total before you send. On Unigox the fee sits inside the rate your relative sees before confirming the sale.

Can I send USDT to a Sendwave Wallet?

No. Sendwave's wallet terms allow USDC only and warn that a different digital asset sent to the wallet may be lost for good. Send USDT to a Unigox Wallet instead, where your relative can sell it.

Price the USDT before you send it home

Sendwave shows its total, fee and rate before you pay. On Unigox the sale screen shows your relative the rate for their exact amount, fee inside, before they confirm; a currency page shows today's reference rate.
