An AltcoinTrader alternative for USDT swaps with no order book
AltcoinTrader moves money through EFT deposits and withdrawal batches. Unigox is an AltcoinTrader alternative without either: buy or sell USDT in one trade, paid bank to bank. For other coins, gold, order-book trading or OTC deals, stay.
When to stay with AltcoinTrader
You trade more than USDT
AltcoinTrader runs rand markets for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP and many other coins, plus gold and silver tokens. It also offers Easy Save rewards and ACT Buy for airtime and vouchers paid from xZAR. Unigox only swaps stablecoins with local money.
You place limit orders at volume
AltcoinTrader's maker fee falls from 0.50% to a 0.01% rebate once your 30-day volume passes R250 million. Its REST and WebSocket API covers trading, balances and withdrawals. A maker order can cost less than the fee inside a Unigox rate, so price both for your amount.
You deal R1 million or more at once
The AltcoinTrader OTC desk quotes by email from R1 million per order, with no set maximum, on weekdays from 09:00 to 17:00, and builds its fee into the quoted price.
AltcoinTrader's three steps and one Unigox trade
AltcoinTrader's trading fees are for its first tier, under R100,000 of trading in 30 days.

| Buying USDT | Deposit rand first, by EFT to its Standard Bank or Nedbank account or by Capitec Pay; from other banks a deposit can take up to 72 hours to be credited. Then buy on the USDT/xZAR book. | Pay the rand from your bank to the P2P merchant or payment business selling the USDT, as part of the trade. |
| Selling USDT | USDT you send in is credited from level 2, after Travel Rule questions. Sell it with Easy Sell at the market price for 1.5%, or with an order at your price on the USDT/xZAR book, which may wait or fill in parts. Either way the rand still has to be withdrawn. | Enter the amount and confirm one rate; whoever takes your USDT pays the rand into your bank account. |
| Fees | Trading: 0.50% maker, 0.60% taker. Easy Buy and Sell: 1.5%. Rand deposit by EFT: 0.5%, at most R95. Sending USDT out: 2 USDT on TON or Solana, 5 USDT on Tron. | Already inside the rate Unigox shows for your amount, before you confirm. |

Near-instant costs R60 or R140 more and needs level 2. Standard Bank accounts get it by default at no extra cost. | Paid by the P2P merchant or payment business that takes your USDT, to the account you enter for the trade, with no batch times. |
| Identity and limits | Trades and rand deposits have no limit; withdrawals do. Level 1 allows R100 in total. Level 2 (FICA documents verified) allows R200,000 per 24 hours. Level 3 (2FA on for over a month) allows R1 million per 24 hours. | Identity check before your first trade, at any amount. |

Swap USDT and rand on Unigox instead of AltcoinTrader
Verify on Unigox
Unigox verifies who you are before the first trade, at any amount; the FICA documents you gave AltcoinTrader do not carry over.
Bring the USDT you will sell
Withdraw it from AltcoinTrader to your Unigox deposit address and answer its Travel Rule questions. The fee is 5 USDT on Tron, or 2 USDT on TON, Solana, Arbitrum or Optimism. Buying needs no transfer.
Swap at one rate
Choose buy or sell, enter the amount and your bank account, and confirm the rate. If a P2P merchant pays you, release the USDT only once the rand is in your account.
The AltcoinTrader alternatives FAQ
What is an AltcoinTrader alternative for swapping USDT?

AltcoinTrader review: is it regulated and audited?
AltCoin Trader (Pty) Ltd gives its Financial Service Provider number, FSP 53614, in its site footer. BVA Auditing and Assurance found its reserves exceed its liabilities to clients in its proof-of-reserves reports, and most crypto sits offline in cold storage. Rand goes out only to an account in your name at a South African bank it lists.
What does AltcoinTrader ask before it sends USDT to Unigox?
It asks the Travel Rule questions on every crypto withdrawal. It shares your full name, ID or passport number, reference number and proof of address with the receiving platform. Its terms let it suspend or cancel a send when that information cannot be provided or verified. Send the USDT to your Unigox deposit address on a network both support, such as Tron, TON or Solana.
Price your next USDT and rand swap
On AltcoinTrader a swap pays its trading fee. A buy adds 0.5% (at most R95) to deposit rand; a sale adds R16 plus 0.5% (at most R95) to withdraw. Compare what is left with the Unigox quote for the same amount.
